The Hornet Shooting Team, which is part of the Arkansas Youth Shooting Sports Program, sponsored by the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission is doing well in competition. Two squads of the team competed in an A.T.A Registered shoot on May 20, 2007 at the Remington Gun Club in Lonoke. Winning first and second place in a four squad shoot off.

Marion had two squads competing in the tournament.

This shoot was a good warm up for the A.T.A State Championship which is to be held on June 16th. The team will face some good, strong competition at State. They stand a good chance of winning in some of their classes.

The team members who competed were Jordan Harper, Garrett Grubbs, Daniel Grubbs, Lyle London, Brett Long, Cary Traynom, Hunter Traynom, Jason Blake, Jesse Blake and Landon Stotts.
