The Harrisburg Hornet Shooting Team competed in their first ATA Trap Shooting Competition April 28, 2007 at the Cleburne County Shooting Club in Heber Springs.

 

The team competed in the singles event 16-yard target. They competed in one of two divisions, junior and sub-junior based on age.

 

Junior Division high score winners included: J.C. Brummett 94, Jason Blake 91 and Ryan Murphy 88. Sub-Division High scores included: Garrett Peel 87, Calen Wallace 87, and Landon Stotts 85.

 

"Heber Springs was a good learning experience for our kids," said Pat Turnage, shooting coach. The team is getting ready for two state competitions in June.

 

The shooting team has 31 members.
Juniors - Adam Lacy, Chad Lacy, Jason Blake, J.C. Brummet, Ryan Murphy, Zach Combs, Kevin Harkey, Heath Owens, Morgan Reddmann, Nathaniel Reed and Cole London.

Sub-Juniors - Jordan Harper, Calen Wallace, Garrett Peel, Brian Kramer, Daniel Grubbs, Dakota Tucker, Brett Long, Jordan Caughron, Dillion Reinhard, Hunter Smith, Chris Smith, Holland Gandy, Landon Stotts, Fisher Cox, Hunter Traynom, Cary Traynom, Devin Brown, Jesse Blake and Cale Reddmann.

 

"I would like to thank the parents and our community for the support that has been shown for the program," said Turnage. Other shooting coaches are Eric Wright and Tracy Morris.
